AI Concert and a Happy Anniversary!

It's been a busy yet fun couple of weeks. Last weekend Evelyn and I went up with my family to Utah for my mom's family reunion. My brother and his family have just recently moved to Alpine into a beautiful home so they willingly held the reunion at their place. It was fun to see where they are living now but we sure do miss them here. All the cousins had a fun time playing together. My sister and I drove around Provo and gave the kids a tour of where we use to live and of BYU, I don't think they were too interested. It was fun to go back, I haven't been back to Provo in a long time.

Yesterday Kyle and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. I can't believe 5 years have gone by. It has been so wonderful and adventurous being married to Kyle. He has taken me a lot of places I never would have thought and has really been a great friend and husband to me. It was so nice to be able to spend the day with him. We went to Santa Monica and walked around the shops, got ice cream and then ate at one of our favorites, Neptunes Net. I can't wait to see what the next 5 years brings us.
Thursday my mom got tickets for all the girls to go to the American Idol tour concert. It was so much fun. The music was great and they all performed so well. Each contestant sang a few songs but when Adam Lambert came on stage everyone was screaming so loud and was going crazy for him. It was really fun to just be with my sisters and my mom.
Here is my sister and I with Scott singing in the background.
I really liked Lil, she was very entertaining
This is Adam performing, you would have thought he was a major celebrity the way everyone reacted when he came out on stage.
We have really been enjoying our summer and hope to enjoy it as much as we can for the next month!

Pictures of Alaska!

Now that my entire family, literally, is over the flu I can concentrate at looking at the computer and post some pics of our Alaskan cruise. We really did have a great time and got to see some really beautiful nature and scenery. I've put a lot of pictures here, but I think it's more fun to see them then read words. First off Happy 4th of July to everyone. We had an easy day since we were all still recovering, but we enjoyed the pool, the sunshine, and Kyle and I got to go see a movie together which is always nice. Ended the day by seeing fireworks at the mall after our movie and of course had to do a little photo shoot of Evelyn.

I will recount our trip from the beginning. First Kyle and I went up to Seattle and visited his aunt and uncle. They live in a cute little town called Port Townsend. It was really fun to see them and their beautiful home right on the water. I would love to wake up every morning to a view like theirs.

Uncle Tom and Aunt Kathrine. We had fun driving around with them and going to a Mariners game.
In the car on the ferry going over to Seattle from their house.
We were really excited to finally be on the boat. It was a beautiful ship. We went on Holland America and it was so nice. The food was delicious and if you've been on a cruise you know they feed you 24/7, have fun activities and great shows. Our first stop was at Glacier Bay. It was so beautiful. We got to see some impressive glaciers and just enjoy the beauty of the earth. It really was amazing to see these massive ice pieces in the water.

While we were parked at the glaciers Evelyn discovered the pool out on the deck and just had to get in. She absolutely loves the water. She had so much fun getting in the pool and the spa. It was so cool to sit in the spa and have a view of the glaciers.

Here we are at dinner enjoying some wonderful food. Evelyn did so good and loved not having any baby food to eat.

Evelyn loved to play in the window in our room and watch the waves as the ship would moved through the water.
There were some really great shows on the cruise, one we really loved was an Elton John impersonator. He was so good and entertaining, it was a lot of fun.
Our next stop was in Juneau. It was a nice cute town. We went and saw the Mendenhall glacier. It was really neat cause you could walk up to a large waterfall that was coming down the side of the glacier.

Evelyn loved walking around and trying to pick up every rock she saw, even though most were deep in the ground.

The two little cousins had a lot of fun playing together.
Evelyn loved all the music on the boat. She even got to go to a disco club and dance until the late hours of the night. She really was being watched by everyone in the club, she just would dance her little heart out.
Family picture at dinner.
We stopped in a little town called Sitka, but didn't have the camera with us. Then we stopped in Ketchikan. It was a bigger town that had a lot of fun shops and streets to walk around.
There is an old part of the town the was built on stilts, basically all on a pier. It was fun to see the old buildings and the little old town.

The cruise ended in Victoria, Canada before heading back to Seattle. We had such a great time and were so thankful for the opportunity to go.
