To continue our summer, for the month of July we have been continuing to enjoy our favorite things. We have made multiple trips to the beach, here Evelyn is getting buried.
Evelyn started a summer school camp which she absolutely loves.
We have been playing a lot of dress-up. Though in this picture she kept telling me she was a pirate not a cowgirl. Whatever, that's Evie.
We have been practicing and rehearsing over and over our primary talks. This girl will be ready at a moments notice if someone is not prepared.
Ellouise has been so proud of herself since she has figured out how to put her shoes on all by herself.
We went out to a festival in Santa Paula and got to ride the train. The girls really loved this part, Evelyn has wanted to ride on a train for a long time.
Enjoying the scenery of the fruit trees.
The train was really neat, being completely restored but keeping its old charm.
Evelyn really wanted her face painted so of course I said yes and thought it turned out so cute.
It has continued to be a fun and busy summer, August will definitely be bringing many more pool and beach days for us.

More Summertime Activities
The LA Temple has such a great visitors center for kids and Evelyn really does enjoy going there and seeing the "big" Jesus, aka the statue. Ellouise was a bit nervous and wasn't sure if he was going to come to life right then and there. In the above picture I tried to get the girls to hold hands and walk across the big lawn and take a picture like many of the million wedding pictures that are done in that position, but Ellouise wanted nothing to do with holding hands.
Evelyn was singing in front of the temple for everyone walking by.
The beautiful Los Angeles Temple. Kyle and I were happily married here 8 years ago on July 17th.
My darling and precious little girls. I love them so much and enjoyed being on the temple grounds reminding them how much Jesus loves them and wants them to be happy.
Evelyn said she was going to get married there, so I said I am going to write it down and hold her to it.
We have been doing a lot of swimming and Evelyn is getting so much better. Thanks to other kids jumping in, Evelyn followed suit and jumped right into the deep end. She was having so much fun and I was so proud of her. She kept yelling, "It's the Evelyn butterfly!"
Other activities that happen almost on a daily basis is riding the train at the mall, dressing up and getting into mommy's makeup. These girls love this train ride, all it does is go in continuous circles, but it could be Magic Mountain for all they know.
We went and visited the Wildlife Learning Center which was really fun. They have some great animals there and the girls loved it cause you can get up so close to them all.
They were letting people take pictures with "Skittles" the snake, but Evelyn opted for just taking a picture of the snake instead. She did a pretty good job.
I do enjoy how there is so many fun things to walk to around our neighborhood and one day we walked to William S. Hart Park where they were having a Western Festival. The girls loved watching the trick horses do their show.
One afternoon I heard Evelyn singing primary songs and then teaching primary so I went to sneak and see what she was doing and this is what I found. Sitting on her stool, using Kyle's bat as her microphone and one of his law books as her manual. She is so very creative.
A couple weeks ago our family got to go down to San Diego and stay at my parents beach house with all my siblings and the girls cousins. It was so much fun, the girls loved being with all the kids and having fun on the beach. We were glad to have time to visit with my brother, his wife and their six kids, cause they are headed to Chicago from Alpine right now to start Medical School in the fall. We will miss them, but hopefully this means we get to go visit Chicago again.
It has continued to be a great summer and we are gearing up with lots more fun activities to finish it off for the next month and a half.
