Sun, Beach and Pool!

Let me just say, Florida is awesome and I want to go back. It seems that taking a short break and heading down to Florida is a must for Kyle and I cause neither one of us can last through an entire winter without some sunshine. So that is just what we did this past week. It was so great, the weather was perfect, the hotel was great, and Evelyn seemed to really enjoy herself as well. Here are a couple of pictures of the hotel we stayed at.

Thursday we spent most the time on the beach, which was so nice and relaxing listening to the sounds of the ocean and feeling the warm sand on our feet. Evelyn at first did not like the sand and just wanted to stay on her towel and have a drink. She eventually warmed up to it when she found some sand toys and realized it wasn't that bad. The whole trip Evelyn was cracking Kyle and I up, she is just too funny and really tries to act like an adult and be in charge. She really was taking this vacation thing seriously, she loved sitting on her towel or on a lounge chair, she definitely enjoyed drinking "virgin" strawberry margaritas, going up and down the elevator was just about the greatest thing ever and one morning she actually slept until 10am. We are going to have to do this more often.


One night when we went out to eat Evelyn insisted on sitting at her own table with her own plate of food and drink, so that is exactly what she got. Here she is at a table by herself having quite the conversation with who knows who. We told the waitress we were sorry Evelyn took up the table and that she wasn't able to get more customers in her section until we left.
The second day we stayed by the pool. Evelyn was in heaven. This girl really loves to swim and be in the water. She actually wore herself out so much that she put herself down for a nap on a lounge chair under a towel. Like I said she took this vacation thing seriously.

Our last night we went and ate at a Mexican restaurant with one of Kyle's friends from high school and while we were there a lady was singing lots of random songs, so of course Evelyn had to get up in front of everybody and dance. She was really rockin it and would have gone all night if we let her. The workers loved watching her and gave her a sucker which she loved.

Oh what a vacation we had. It was really nice to be able to have the time together and have so much fun. Now we are back to freezing weather, cleaning up after ourselves, since no maid service is showing up at my door for housekeeping, and Kyle is already back to the library. Luckily for us though after this winter we can say Bon Voyage snow, ice and freezing temperatures.
