Pictures of Alaska!

Now that my entire family, literally, is over the flu I can concentrate at looking at the computer and post some pics of our Alaskan cruise. We really did have a great time and got to see some really beautiful nature and scenery. I've put a lot of pictures here, but I think it's more fun to see them then read words. First off Happy 4th of July to everyone. We had an easy day since we were all still recovering, but we enjoyed the pool, the sunshine, and Kyle and I got to go see a movie together which is always nice. Ended the day by seeing fireworks at the mall after our movie and of course had to do a little photo shoot of Evelyn.

I will recount our trip from the beginning. First Kyle and I went up to Seattle and visited his aunt and uncle. They live in a cute little town called Port Townsend. It was really fun to see them and their beautiful home right on the water. I would love to wake up every morning to a view like theirs.

Uncle Tom and Aunt Kathrine. We had fun driving around with them and going to a Mariners game.
In the car on the ferry going over to Seattle from their house.
We were really excited to finally be on the boat. It was a beautiful ship. We went on Holland America and it was so nice. The food was delicious and if you've been on a cruise you know they feed you 24/7, have fun activities and great shows. Our first stop was at Glacier Bay. It was so beautiful. We got to see some impressive glaciers and just enjoy the beauty of the earth. It really was amazing to see these massive ice pieces in the water.

While we were parked at the glaciers Evelyn discovered the pool out on the deck and just had to get in. She absolutely loves the water. She had so much fun getting in the pool and the spa. It was so cool to sit in the spa and have a view of the glaciers.

Here we are at dinner enjoying some wonderful food. Evelyn did so good and loved not having any baby food to eat.

Evelyn loved to play in the window in our room and watch the waves as the ship would moved through the water.
There were some really great shows on the cruise, one we really loved was an Elton John impersonator. He was so good and entertaining, it was a lot of fun.
Our next stop was in Juneau. It was a nice cute town. We went and saw the Mendenhall glacier. It was really neat cause you could walk up to a large waterfall that was coming down the side of the glacier.

Evelyn loved walking around and trying to pick up every rock she saw, even though most were deep in the ground.

The two little cousins had a lot of fun playing together.
Evelyn loved all the music on the boat. She even got to go to a disco club and dance until the late hours of the night. She really was being watched by everyone in the club, she just would dance her little heart out.
Family picture at dinner.
We stopped in a little town called Sitka, but didn't have the camera with us. Then we stopped in Ketchikan. It was a bigger town that had a lot of fun shops and streets to walk around.
There is an old part of the town the was built on stilts, basically all on a pier. It was fun to see the old buildings and the little old town.

The cruise ended in Victoria, Canada before heading back to Seattle. We had such a great time and were so thankful for the opportunity to go.

Paying Tribute

We just got back from our cruise to Alaska which was awesome, and I am going to put a post and some pictures about that, but I first have to pay tribute to four people who sadly lost their lives this week. First and foremost my Michael Jackson. I was so shocked and sad when I heard this news, I absolutely love his music and think he is the most talented singer, dancer and performer. Evelyn would wake up to his music every morning last year as Kyle would get ready for school, she would love dancing to it. My mom had already purchased some tickets to go to his concert in London this fall, but sadly now none of us will be going.

Farrah Fawcett is another sad icon to have passed away. She had the looks and I think my mom looked to her for some style tips as well, I mean look at Farrah's picture then below look at my mom's picture I have to say there is some resemblance.

Ed Mcmahon, I loved watching him on Star Search. I always wanted to be on that show and do a tap dance, it would have been so cool.
Billy Mays, how could you not buy something from this guy. He sure had my buying a few things, so convincing that all these inventions he was selling you just couldn't live without. What are future products going to do without him?

Evelyn's a Swimmer!

Though she just turned 1 years-old, Evelyn took her first swimming lessons and did awesome. She always loved being in the water and wanted to swim so badly so I thought we might as well give her some lessons so she can start learning and be a little more safe in the pool. The teacher came everyday for 5 days and taught her how to hold her breath under water and swim to the wall or the stairs and pull herself up. It was so funny to watch her little body kicking and splashing in the pool, but I am amazed at what she can do now. She now knows when I put her under to swim to the side, so hopefully we can keep working on it and she'll be doing laps in no time. Here are some snap shots of her being an awesome swimmer!

This morning my family went with my mom to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. It was really awesome. There were so many people there cheering for cancer survivors as they did a lap around the whole event. There are hundreds of booths supporting cancer societies and there is a big circle they make that people are continuously walking for 24 hours. I am so proud of my mom and what she has gone through and am so thankful she is getting better everyday.

Our Little Girl is 1!

I can't believe this day one year ago I was seeing my little girl for the first time. It truly has been one of the best years of my life. Kyle and I have been so blessed to have her in our lives, she has brought so much joy and love into our home and family. She is just getting so big and very independent, and I am starting to miss my little baby. She is walking everywhere and getting into everything. She loves to go running with me, swing on the swings, swim in the pool and spend as much time as she can on the trampoline.
Here she is waking up on the day of her party which was on Saturday, and was so excited to get it started.
I had a lot of fun setting everything up and making my cupcakes into the shape of a ladybug. We had a lot of family over and some friends, it was so fun to have everyone together.
Here Evelyn is with two of her great grandmothers, my grandma and Kyle's nana.

Evelyn is sure enjoying spending the summer with her cousins and loves to just follow them around.
Here's our family picture, Evelyn wasn't in the mood to look at the camera for us.
Evelyn got so many nice gifts from everyone, here is her baby doll and ball that mom and dad got for her.
Getting ready to eat cake!

She sure loved the chocolate cupcake, she had no problem squeezing it and shoving it into her mouth.
Lickin finger good!

Back to one of her favorite spots, in the water getting clean.

Oh my cute cute girl, I just love her so much.

Ending the day in the pool with her aunt and uncle, she loved it so much and wanted to wear her crown in there too so nobody would forget who the birthday princess is.
