4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July and fun activities lately. We took a beach trip to Venice Beach which was really fun and nice to be out in the perfect weather smelling the lovely ocean air. It is always interesting to watch the street performers and see all the funky people that hang out at the beach, it keeps it quite entertaining. I love to just watch the waves of the ocean and feel the warm sand on my feet, it is so relaxing and a good way to release stress. Of course I couldn't come home without a sun burn so it's good old aloe vera for me. I just wish I could stay at the beach all day everyday.Actual day of the 4th was fun, it was sort of our first little family party. The rest of my family was over in Catalina Island so Kyle and I actually had the place to ourselves. The day started off by sleeping in and then heading over to Del Taco, of course, for lunch. It was off to Sport Chalet for daddy, a.k.a. Kyle, to look for a new pair of shoes. Unfortunately when you have a foot size of 13 it's hard to find some in stock. Back at the house we had our own little swim party and bbq. Evelyn loved swimming and I thought she looked so cute in her swimsuit. When we got in the spa she immediately feel asleep. Kyle cooked up some steak, hot dogs and corn-on-the-cob, it was all so good. We ended the day with watching some movies on my parents big screen and watching the Magic Mountain fireworks show from the balcony.

Baby Blessing

Today was a beautiful day of baby blessings. My sister and I got to bless our baby girls on the same Sunday which was really nice. Kyle did such a wonderful job and gave a beautiful blessing for Evelyn. It has been so fun to have so much family in town this weekend from Utah and Georgia. Evelyn and Chloe had matching dresses and it was fun to dress them up and have them looking so angelic. I can't believe Evelyn has been here with us now for 6 weeks she is so precious and so fun to watch grow and change each and every day. She is starting to sleep now up to 5 hours during the night which is so nice, I've never cherished 5 hours of sleep before in my life. Tomorrow we are headed to the beach, my favorite place .

Our First Father's Day!

Well we had a fun weekend celebrating Father's Day for the first time. I think Kyle really enjoyed being able to celebrate the day. It's been another good week with Evelyn and she seems to be growing everyday. I am excited she is starting to fit into more of her clothes so I can dress her up during the day, even though the clothes last only a few hours before she needs a change. I am getting more comfortable with taking Evelyn out so we have made it to the mall, of course, and out to eat so it is nice to plan activities to get some fresh air. My good friend Kate Jeffries had her book published so we went over to Barnes and Noble to attend her book signing which was really neat. We took some pictures of the cousins together and with Grandma and Great Grandma.

First trip to Church

Well it's been 3 weeks now being a mother and I have quickly come to learn how much work it really is. It truly is a blessing to have Evelyn in my life I am just trying to learn how to adjust to getting through a day on little sleep. It was a lot of fun going to church with Evelyn, one to get out of the house and two to show her off in her cute dress. Kyle's mom came into town for a few days and it was so fun to have her here. She was a great help in holding Evelyn so I could get things done and take a nap. Kyle and I were even able to go out and see a movie, which was awesome.

Kyle's dad made a beautiful cradle for Evelyn that she now sleeps in. It is so nice to have the cradle for a wonderful keepsake.
It surely has been nice to be close to family while caring for a newborn, I really don't know what I would do without their help. My sister and I went for our first walk together with our little girls and it was fun to push around my cool new stroller. Motherhood is growing on me and I am really enjoying the feeling of having my own child.

Evelyn at One Week!

Wow I can't believe it has been a whole week now with little Evelyn in our lives. She is so sweet and cute. It is defenitely hard work and something you really can't prepare yourself for but it's great. I am so thankful to have my family around right now so willing to help and do whatever they can to make things easier for me. I do enjoy picking out her outfits to wear each day though we never really go anywhere to show them off, but I know she likes to look good anyway. Her first doctors appointment went really well and she is right on track with weight and good health. She takes after me in that she really likes to sleep so I only have to get up once during the middle of the night to feed her. Here are some pictures I took to document her one week of life.

Evelyn Marie Koester!!!

Before After

Well our darling little Evelyn finally arrived. We are so excited and blessed to have this healthy little baby in our lives now. She came at 8:06pm on Sunday, May 18. We arrived at the hospital 7am that morning and had a long day ahead of us, but boy am I glad it's done and we are finally home. Kyle was a great support and always there when I needed him. I know sleeping on the couch in the room with me wasn't the most comfortable but I sure appreciated his help. It was nice to have my family there and friends come by to visit, I know my life really won't ever be the same but I look forward to it. Here are a few picks and I will update soon!

Jumping on the Trampoline

I am just a little over a week until my due date and I can't tell you how long the past couple of weeks have been. I mean I think the month of May has been the longest month of my life and it is only the 9th. I am really hoping I don't have to wait until the 20th, but since I am anticipating it so much my little girl will probably stay in there as long as she can. Yesterday my doctor told me I was about 2cm, I was hoping for at least 4 or 5cm. My parents live on the top of a hill so I have been walking up and down it as much as I can, but it is just getting more and more uncomfortable. Every time I go down hill I feel like I am going to fall forward and that would be really embarrassing. Today I even attempted to go and jump on my parents trampoline and see if that would work, but my sister told me to get off cause she didn't want to have to deliver me right there.
Kyle has been keeping himself busy with doing law work by day and sales by night, I mean the guy just won't take a break. It is fun to see how excited he is for the baby to come, I know he will be such a good dad. I enjoy keeping up with everyone's blogs and seems everyone is doing well and staying very busy. As soon as anything happens I will let you all know, for the mean time I think I will go back out on the trampoline!
